Associate Director - Special Events - Nashville | American Diabetes Association | Nashville, TN

The Nashville area office is seeking an individual to help coordinate and organize special events, secure corporate sponsorships and develop strong community support of events. The successful candidate is results oriented with experience in reaching six figure income goals in special events and networking with groups and individuals to achieve desired outcome. Develop public awareness of the American Diabetes Association's mission, goals and objectives. Encourage leadership of corporate and community volunteers in all phases of local activity through a systematic program of volunteer recruitment, assignment, development and recognition.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Minimum of five years experience with similar voluntary health agencies, or in progressively responsible positions of administration and fund raising activities preferred
  • Some travel within assigned territory and work some evenings and weekends
  • Have access to an automobile
  • Able to lift 25 lbs
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft office.
  • Must pay close attention to details, be able to manage multiple activities, and describe ADA's vision of successful events to volunteers.
  • Familiarity with fundraising events is strongly preferred.
  • Must have experience in working with diverse volunteer groups from many employment and socio economic backgrounds.
